TORONTO — Sweden's Linda Stenlund and Italy's Mattia Giovanella will hit the ice for Rock League at TMU Mattamy Athletic Centre.

Stenlund and Giovanella, who are on hand as super spares, will fill in for a few games for Frontier Curling Club's Stefania Constantini and Shield Curling Club's Amos Mosaner, respectively.

The 2026 Olympic bronze medallists have returned to Italy for a previously scheduled commitment and are expected to return late Thursday.

Stenlund will enter the lineup at lead on Frontier Curling Club's women's team for their game Tuesday evening against Alpine Curling Club. Tabitha Peterson moves up to skip with Cory Thiesse at third and Sarah Wilkes at second. Taylor Anderson-Heide will handle mixed doubles duties alongside Korey Dropkin.

Giovanella will join Shield Curling Club beginning with Wednesday's match against Typhoon Curling Club.

Stenlund earned a bronze medal with skip Isabella Wranå at the World Women's Curling Championship last month. She is a one-time Grand Slam of Curling title winner, capturing the Players' Championship at TMU Mattamy Athletic Centre in 2023.

Giovanella plays alongside Mosaner on Joël Retornaz's team on tour. He has captured four Grand Slam titles while throwing lead stones and handling vice skip duties. The team represented Italy on home ice at the Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina.
