Rock League locks in dates, locations for Season 2 in 2027

After serving up an appetizer for Season 1, Rock League is now planning to deliver a five-course meal for Season 2.

The professional curling league announced Thursday its finalized dates and locations for the upcoming season, as Rock League plans to hit the road with five stops beginning in January 2027.

Rock League features six franchises with the world’s top men’s and women’s curlers competing in a variety of different disciplines from four-player team curling to mixed doubles and more.

Shield Curling Club, captained by two-time Olympic gold medallist Brad Jacobs, won the inaugural Rock League championship during a condensed one-week preview season last April in Toronto. Benoît Schwarz-van Berkel was named MVP after lifting Shield to victory in a nail-biting shootout final over Typhoon Curling Club.

Rock League will ring in a new season, and a new year, Jan. 7-10 at Temple Gardens Centre in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. 

NBT Bank Arena in Utica, New York, will then play host Jan. 28-31, followed by Ottawa's TD Place, Feb. 4-7.

The season picks up again April 8-11 at Servus Arena in Red Deer, Alberta, and wraps up with its championship weekend April 15-18 at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Rock League adjusted its previously announced Season 2 schedule to better support its athletes’ commitments throughout the curling season and ensure a more sustainable calendar. As a result, the previously announced Halifax event will no longer take place.

The Curling Group, which owns and operates Rock League, announced last month it had signed multi-year broadcast agreements with CBC and Sportsnet in Canada and ESPN in the United States.

CBC TV and CBC Gem will continue to provide coverage of every match, with select matches Thursdays and Fridays on Radio-Canada’s streaming service ICI TOU.TV and Sportsnet.

Rock League will return to ESPN+ on the ESPN App for Season 2.
